This means no core charge or return is required, making them a cost-effective and practical upgrade! They include a high-efficiency billet compressor wheel, advanced turbine blade design, and a larger .70 A/R turbine housing, increasing airflow significantly and supporting over 700 horsepower with proper fuel systems and other modifications. Not only do these turbochargers deliver a massive performance boost, but they are also built for longevity, with durable materials designed to withstand tough driving conditions and keep performing at their best over time.
The PRIMROSE IMPORT CORP VX70 Turbochargers are direct bolt-on replacements, and come with all necessary components, such as new oil and water lines, gaskets, and hardware.
 
Why larger turbos?
You might be thinking, “More power, of course,” but there’s more to it than just that. The stock turbos on your VR30 are small—great for engine response but not optimal at higher RPMs, especially when increasing boost with a tune. A modified SUV X50 or X60 with higher boost pressure will feel quick, but once you surpass peak power in the power band, performance starts to drop. This happens because the stock turbo housings can’t provide enough airflow to meet engine demands. Although tuners might increase boost pressure to compensate, this raises pre-turbine pressure, generating excessive heat and making the engine more prone to detonation. This is where upgraded turbos come in: larger turbos flow more air with less restriction.
PRIMROSE IMPORT CORP’s VX70 turbos come with a .70 A/R turbine housing, a significant improvement over the stock .53 A/R housing. This allows them to be more efficient at producing power and needing less boost to reach the same levels. This reduces turbine speeds, helps manage heat better, and enables the engine to generate more power at higher RPMs, where performance cars thrive. To address boost creep, we've maximized the wastegate port surface area with a custom shape.
 
Installation Note: The VX70 turbos reuse the SUV's existing wastegate actuator and speed sensor (for Red Sport models) and must be set up correctly during installation. This is a critical process—incorrect installation or adjustment of the wastegate actuator will cause issues during operation and tuning. For this reason, we strongly recommend having the turbos installed by a professional performance shop.
 
Performance Gains:
The dyno results below show what we consider a safe limit for 93-octane fuel, producing 503whp and 469wtq at only 17PSI! This was achieved on a Z1 SUV X60 with the following supporting mods:
